Jewellery design has fascinated me since childhood. My early scrapbooks were filled with images and jottings fuelled by dreams of treasure and love of beautiful stones. Today, my style is modernist using simple flowing structures that challenge symmetry and provide elegance.
I studied Geology at university which gave me a love of minerals and a huge respect for the power of our planet and the forces deep within it. My work endeavours to capture the beauty of rough-hewn beads of semi-precious stones such as labradorite, lapis and amethyst, cracked from deposits of natural rock laid down millions of years ago. Silver, purified from its ore formed during the evolution of the earth, provides a versatile medium to enhance the natural beauty of each stone I use.
